This beautiful coin is an official coin of Australia and was minted only for the year 2004. The MONKEY gold coins were a one time issue, and are no longer available from the mint. The 2004 coin features the LUNAR "YEAR OF THE MONKEY" with a MONKEY that is coloured by the Australia government's Perth Mint. QUEEN ELIZABETH II portrait is on the other side (obverse) and has a mirror like surface. This PROOF-LIKE GEM BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED "15 Dollar" denomination gold coin is Legal Tender of the country of Australia. Background is recessed and has a goldish frosted look that includes the Chinese symbol for a "MONKEY".
